James Murphy's Vedic Eden featuring Psich
A multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer James Murphy has been centralized in the Milwaukee and surrounding area since 2006.

His pieces woven with polyphony and counterpoint present in western classical music and jazz combined with textures and rhythms from the global community exist as a sincere tapestry. James' works include using violins, brass, woodwinds, synthesizers, beat machines, and tape loops in the studio or live to create the sonic depth and color desired.

James extends this mentality to his work as a producer (Journeyman J-Scribe 2010; Catharsis Psich TBR; Healing Broken Darlin' Nikki Janzen TBR.)

James performs as a solo guitarist, with jazz groups from trios to septets, supporting artists whom he produces, as a guitarist for the Micah Olsan OCD Big Band, as a house guitarist for poetry and open mic events sponsored by Still Waters Collective, Family Power Entertainment, and Rising Tides/Power of Word, and as guitarist for Amani's World Child Literacy/Health and Fitness Program, also leading his own ensembles in performances of his original compositions.

He is working as co-musical director on a children's cartoon series "Stinky Shoe and Coach Laroo" to air on PBS alongside The Figureheads for the non-profit organization Active Across America which promotes healthy lifestyle choices for children.

Having studied at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and currently under Steve Peplin at the Milwaukee Area Technical College James Murphy continues bringing light to his unique music and technique through diverse and moving projects.
